If you are a Hip Hop producer and you haven’t seen this the Akai MPC 2500 then you have been living under a rock. Akai has really up the mpc series on this one. With features that mpc 4000 should’ve had. The Akai MPC2500 Music Production Center is a 64-Track MIDI Sequencer with 32-voice 16bit Stereo Digital Sampler.
If you want rock solid sequencing and drum programming machine then this is it. The unit has a large lcd so you can see what your doing a little bit easier and you can’t forget of course those big signature pads.
One the best features of this new toy is that you can load up a loop or whatever and slice it up via the new Chop Shop feature. You can then spread them across the pads with ease. This is worth the price for me alone.
It’s built nice however as with everything Akai you will have your bugs. How about one that blanks the screen and now you can’t do anything because you can’t see what you are doing. I hope it’s just a OS problem and not the screen itself. This new drum sampler midi production center really does kick butt when you want to flip a hip hop beat.
